Und wie ist das jetzt? Ist Uni überall das Selbe oder nicht? 

Hier in der Schweiz ging in der ersten Woche auch in jedem Fach die Liste herum, aber nicht um die Anwesenheit zu kontrollieren, sondern um sich Bücher zu bestellen. Hier muss man sich nämlich nicht selbst darum kümmern, dass man auch alle Bücher für die Uni kauft. Eigentlich ist es ja sehr praktisch, man muss sich nur in die Liste eintragen, und zack! sind die Bücher da. Sehr toll, vor allem weil man die Bücher nicht sofort bezahlen muss. Die böse Überraschung kommt erst dann, wenn es ums Bezahlen geht und der Buchpreis in die Höhe schnellt. Leider kann man die Bücher bei den Mitschülern nicht mit Karte bezahlen, deswegen muss man auch immer Bargeld dabei haben. Ja, und die Geldautomaten ticken hier auch anders. Wo in Spanien der Automat noch zwanziger Euroscheine ausspuckte, gibt ein Schweizer Geldautomat gleich einen Hunderte raus. Auch nicht sonderlich praktisch um ein Buch zu bezahlen, es sei den es kostet 90 Franken, was nicht selten ist.

Erkenntnis der Woche: Die meisten Schweizer besitzen gar keine Visa Karte, weil man dazu ein festes Einkommen braucht. Jetzt weiss ich auch, warum ich im Supermarkt immer so komisch angeguckt werde, wenn ich mit meiner Visa Karte bezahle.

So, how is it? Is university the same everywhere?

Here in Switzerland they also pass a list in the first week, it's not to control attendance but to order books. Yes, over here one doesn't have to concern oneself with the books needed for university. In fact, it is really practical, one just has to sign the list and bingo!, the book have come. Great, mainly becaus one doesn't have to pay the books right away. The bad surprise only comes when one has to pay for the books and the price shoots up. Sadly one can't pay the books by credit card as one pays to the classmate, so one always has to carry cash around. And of course, cash machines are totaly different over here. Whereas in Spain cashpoints just spit out twenty euro-notes, a Swiss cash machine gives you one hundred francs right away. That's not particulary practical to pay a book, unles it costs 90 francs, which is quite common.

Insight of the week: Most Swiss don't even have a Visa Card, because they need a fixed income to get one. Now I know why they look at me so strangely at the supermarket when I pay by Visa Card.
